AI and the future of medicine in Switzerland

We would like to draw your attention on the recent focus in the Swiss Medical Journal (Schweizerische Ärztezeitung) about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. The article discusses the topic with our lecturers Professor Jörg Goldhahn, head of the Institute of Translational Medicine at ETH, and Professor Jens Eckstein, cardiologist and Chief Medical Information Officer at the University Hospital Basel. The article is followed by an interview with Dr Alexander Zimmer, member of the Central Board FMH and responsible for the area of digitalization and eHealth. Dr Zimmer explains why the FMH wants to actively shape the development of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, and how such systems can support the medical profession.
