Take-off into the digital future of clinical research!

We have successfully started the first cohort of our MAS programme in digital Clinical Research – an exciting first day for the students and everyone involved in the development of this future-oriented study programme. This week was kick-off with the CAS ETH in Modern Concepts in Clinical Research at Campus Hönggerberg.

Programme manager Dr Sabine Goldhahn and Daniel Künzle as representative of the ETH School for Continuing Education welcomed the participants with a small apero. Programme director Professor Christian Wolfrum officially inaugurated this advanced continuing education program.

After an introduction to the programme and first warm-up exercises on the complexity of clinical studies, the programme started with Module 1 "From clinical problem to research question" and the topic Critical Appraisal. Here the students assessed and presented their first assignments to the point and in a well-prepared manner. The class was led by Dr Goldhahn and Dr Angela Frotzler. Furthermore, Professor em. Johann Steurer, former head of the Horten Center for Patient-Oriented Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Zurich, engaged in a discussion with the students about the basics of study design.

We are ready and are very much looking forward to further inspiring teaching sessions with our motivated participants.

The MAS programme in digital Clinical Research equips particpants with the knowledge and skills essential for conducting successful clinical research with the goal of improving patient care.
