CAS Students Celebrate Completion with Project Defense & Presentations
Congratulations to the second cohort of the CAS ETH in Modern Concepts in Clinical Research (now CAS ETH DCT) continuing education programme!
After much hard work and dedication, the students of our second cohort have now completed their CAS programme at ETH in modern concepts in clinical research and digital clinical trials. Over the past 10 months, they have explored topics such as digital trial design, digital endpoints in clinical trials, real-world data, data management, and digital health technologies. They had the chance for intensive onsite learning interactions and expanded their professional networks.
One of our students, Mehdi Zeghal, said: "For me, it was an absolutely worthwhile program. I got a lot of inspiration from the many lecturers and fellow students, which has already positively impacted my daily job."
Stefanie Mathes and other students in our course, summed up one of the learning points: "For the setup of a clinical study, it is crucial to include other experts and specialties. A good study cannot be done alone."
Cosimo Bruni pointed out: "Having the chance to talk to someone who knows research, someone who knows technology, someone who knows statistics, and other experts in different fields made the whole CAS very relevant for me. It was also helpful to understand how others can benefit from this knowledge. I would do it again."
The students’ hard work culminated in an inspiring defense of their individual research projects and synopses, on which they have worked for the last couple of months. The lecturers and reviewers, including Chris Gugl (Evoleen), Ivo Schauwecker (ETH digital Trial Intervention Platform), Noé Brasier and Sabine Goldhahn (D-HEST), were impressed by the high quality and thorough presentations. From crafting compelling rationales for the use of wearables and other digital technologies in research settings to formulating relevant research questions and involving patients as partners, they covered all necessary topics with expertise.
We wish our students a bright future and can’t wait to see how their projects will be implemented in their professional environments.
Our lecturers thoroughly enjoyed the classes and are already looking forward to welcoming the next batch of students starting on September 25, 2024.
If you want to join us, a limited number of seats are available for this CAS ETH Digital Clinical Trials until the application window closes on 7 July 2024.
