CAS ETH in Digital Clinical Trials: Third Cohort Graduates

CAS Students Celebrate Completion with Project Defenses and Presentations.Congratulations to the graduates of the third cohort of the CAS ETH in Digital Clinical Trials!

third cohort

Ten months of learning, discussion, and discovery – and now, the third cohort of the CAS ETH in Digital Clinical Trials has successfully completed their journey.

Throughout the programme, participants explored key aspects of digital clinical research – from trial design and digital endpoints to real-world data, oncology, and digital health technologies. Alongside interactive on-site and remote sessions, they built strong professional networks and exchanged experiences across disciplines.

One of the participants, Fiona Sun (Roche), shared her impressions:
“It’s really an amazing programme to understand the real-world challenges in digital clinical trials – and what you can do with the knowledge. That’s fantastic. I really liked the final project, as it brings all the modules together. It’s been a wonderful experience.”

Gökhan Ceylan (Hamilton Medical), already well-versed in clinical trials, added: “It really gave me something I didn’t expect. Even if you already work in clinical trials, there are topics you’ve never explored. You should try it!”

Sandra Rosser (Ypsomed), who brought years of experience in running clinical studies to the programme, was almost sorry that the course had come to an end: “It was an intense experience. We learned so much and I honestly wouldn’t mind attending one or two more modules!”

The programme concluded with the defense of participants’ individual study synopsis, the result of several months of focused project work. The lecturers and reviewers were impressed by the quality and depth of the presentations. Topics ranged from oropharyngeal carcinoma to obesity, diabetes, fatigue, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and rheumatoid arthritis. All projects integrated digital components and demonstrated a deep engagement with the course content – from early study concepts to well-developed protocols that addressed digital measures, patient perspectives, regulatory aspects, and data strategy.

We are proud of our graduates and look forward to seeing how their projects will take shape in their future professional settings.
A sincere thank you also goes to our dedicated lecturers, who supported and challenged the participants throughout the programme. They are already looking forward to welcoming the next cohort starting on 24 September 2025.
